Hilarious footage posted on YouTube shows one motorcycle cop in a crash helmet — apparently filmed in a nick’s underground car park — suddenly starting to cavort. Five colleagues at first appear to ignore him, then join in.
The climax of the video — entitled Metropolitan Police Harlem Shake — sees the officers frolicking to the disco-style flashing of blue lights on several parked motorbikes and a van.
One copper wearing a reflective jacket puts a traffic cone on his head as he dances up against the police van.
Two in crash helmets and leather trousers shimmy as a fellow cop circles them on a pushbike.
The video follows several made by fire brigades and squaddies.
But it hit a sour note with Commissioner Sir Bernard Hogan-Howe’s force.
A Scotland Yard spokesman said: “The Metropolitan Police Service does not condone unprofessionalism in the workplace.
“We expect high standards from all our staff. Appropriate misconduct procedures have been taken regarding those involved.”
